The FRANKLIN INSTITUTE presents the fabulous MUMMIES OF THE WORLD exhibit which includes one of the oldest mummy infants ever discovered; the first-ever presentation of an entire mummified family; a German nobleman discovered by his own descendants; and Egyptian animal mummies, ritually preserved to accompany royals for eternity. You will see the largest exhibition of mummies and related artifacts ever assembled, including a never-before-seen collection of naturally and intentionally preserved mummies. This compelling collection, presented with reverence and dignity, includes ancient mummies and important artifacts from Asia, Oceania, South America, Europe, as well as ancient Egypt that date as far back as 6,500. Lunch will be available on your own at the Museum of Art in any one of four restaurants, including a cafeteria. Boeing, Boeing is a 1960's French farce adapted for the English-speaking stage featuring self-styled Parisian lothario Bernard, who has French, German and American fiancées, each beautiful airline hostesses with frequent "layovers". He keeps "one up, one down and one pending" until unexpected schedule changes bring all three to Paris and Bernard's apartment at the same time. We will also enjoy lunch at the tavern prior to the performance. First on our agenda is a fun overview of all the major points of interest in historic Annapolis, MD aboard our private trolley which can get around the back streets and boatyards. Each trolley features large, panoramic windows for spectacular views of the city. We will drive by the U.S. Naval Academy, the City Dock, the State House, colonial mansions, the Government House (governor's residence) and Maryland's World War II Memorial. We'll cross three bridges-twice-for great water views, and make one stop at the Severn River Overlook, all accompanied by a fun and fascinating narration! Following our tour by land, we will step aboard Harbor Queen for a narrated cruise of historic Annapolis Harbor and the banks of the U.S. Naval Academy as well as a glimpse of the Bay Bridges. .Next is the US Naval Academy where we will enjoy lunch at Dockside Restaurant located in Dahlgreen Hall on campus. [At time of reservation make your lunch selection of tuna, turkey, ham or veggie sandwich served with chips, soda and dessert]. Following lunch our guide will take us for the one hour and fifteen minute historical tour highlighting life at the Academy past and present. Time will be allowed to visit the gift shop after which we will depart for home. The narrated cruise departs Hoskins Creek at Tappahannock at 10 A.M. You'll want to bring your binoculars, so you can get a close-up look at our rare, magnificent national symbol, the bald eagle. These magnificent birds nest in the trees and cliffs beside the Rappahannock. Where the boat docks, you will escorted to one of Virginia's top wineries, Ingleside Plantation. Once at Ingleside, we will enjoy a buffet style lunch followed by a tour of the winery, where you can see the wine making process first hand. But, the real treat of any winery, is of course is the wine. A tasting of some of the premier wines that Ingleside has to offer follows the tour. We will then board our coach and proceed to Stratford Hall for the 4th annual Chesapeake Bay Wine and Harvest Festival. One of the Country's TOP 100 Festivals and TOP 10 on the East Coast, the Neptune Festival has become a major visitor draw, bringing thousands of local visitors to the Boardwalk.
